Recertification Process

Recertification is an essential part of the B Movement.

By recertifying, B Corps™ reinforce their commitment to a business model that has a positive impact on people and the planet. By staying within certification standards, they drive transparency, trust and continuous improvement, demonstrating that it is possible to be both profitable and sustainable. Recertification Requirements

Every three years, complete an updated version of the Impact Assessment B™ and submit for review.
Verify that your company's legal liability requirement has been met.
Avoid controversial industries and practices identified by B Lab™ that may harm people and the planet.

The 5 Steps to Recertification

1 Update your Impact Assessment B settings.

We will guide you through the process of creating a customized assessment for your company's size, industry and location, and check if it meets the requirements to move forward in the recertification process.

2 Re-complete the Impact Assessment B

Update answers on the 5 Impact Areas: governance, employees, community, environment and customers.

3 Send Impact Assessment B to Verification

To ensure that your B Corp is officially recertified before the expiration date of your certification, you must submit the Impact Assessment B for verification six months in advance. At this stage, it is necessary to make the payment of the Application Fee.

4 Impact Assessment Verification Process Begins B

A standards analyst will verify the practices, policies and processes completed in the Impact Assessment B.

If the score is between 65-79 pointsyour company will enter a 3-month improvement period.
If the verified score is less than 65 pointsThe review will be closed and your B Corp certification will be terminated. However, your company will be able to work on improvements to apply again in the future.
If the verified score is equal to or greater than 80 points, your company will be recertified as a B Company!

5 Celebrate your new score!

Celebrate and share the achievement of your certification with everyone who is part of this journey: your team, Board of Directors and shareholders. But don't stop there... also reach out to your suppliers, business partners and the world.

Please note that the Annual Certification Fee is payable on the same date as the original certification, not at the time of recertification.
