Raising the bar as a community
The climate crisis and growing social inequality show us the urgent need for change in the economic system. That's why B Lab has launched its new B Corp Certification™ standards, offering companies clear guidance to drive meaningful and sustainable change.
B Lab has continually evolved its certification standards to raise the bar for companies. The new standards, which will be implemented starting in 2026, bring greater clarity and consistency, driving high-impact business actions and focusing on what really matters. These new standards establish a stronger and more transparent foundation for all companies committed to building an inclusive, equitable and regenerative global economy.

News
The new standards reinforce accountability and clarity, guiding companies to take concrete actions that are in line with the core mission of the B Movement.
These changes are based on two fundamental pillars:
Impact Issues
B Lab's new standards require companies to take meaningful action in key areas of social, environmental and governance impact. By meeting these expectations, companies can demonstrate leadership in responsible business practices and impact management. These standards are designed to enhance impact, provide clarity on what it means to be a leading company, and integrate stakeholder feedback throughout their development.
*The specific requirements to be met by a company will depend on its size, sector and industry, ranging from 20 to 124 requirements to obtain certification.
Continuous Improvement
B Corporations are expected to continuously improve their impact. The new standards integrate mandatory improvement actions, ensuring that companies evolve along with global challenges and push the boundaries of what a responsible company can achieve.
During the certification process, companies are expected to advance their actions over a five-year period. Initially, companies are required to meet the requirements of the Year 0and then, gradually, those of the Year 3 and the Year 5. This ensures that B Corporations remain at the forefront of responsible business leadership.
As we embark on this transition period, it is normal for concerns to arise.
